02Influences
Informed by the best.
Made for the individual.
My strongest influences are Peter Coulson’s expressive monochrome portraiture, Rankin’s graphic and experimental approach, Ellen von Unwerth’s energy and Helmut Newton’s confident location work.
I draw on their use of light, direction and character rather than imitate a particular look. Every shoot begins with the person and the story in front of my camera.
03Purpose & professionalism
More than a pose.
Never exposure for its own sake.
Some collaborative projects include glamour or more revealing styling, but that is never the subject or the reason for making the photograph. I’m not interested in formulaic images built simply around how little someone is wearing.
The focus is always character, light, styling and story. Whatever the brief, the set remains professional, collaborative and comfortable, with clear boundaries and no pressure to work beyond them.
Built with intent
A hand-coded site, shaped by commercial experience.
I have 26 years of commercial experience in software engineering, database and web development.
For the more technical readers out there, I have built this site from the ground up using Angular and .NET, intentionally bypassing standard CMS platforms to prioritize performance. The image processing pipeline integrates with more specialized tools like ImageMagick and Starward.Codec, enabling the site to efficiently serve optimized photography and HDR assets.
My architectural priorities are clear: high-performance page loads, intuitive UX, responsive design, and a maintainable codebase built to scale alongside future services.
